Pacer Guobadia

Pacer is a seasoned commercial and energy lawyer with over a decade of external / in-house counsel experience. He has cognate experience advising on investment and transaction structures, regulatory compliance, tax efficiency in project developments and M&As; providing contract negotiation and documentation support to commercial concerns across the energy industry.

Pacer’s core area of practice is project documentation and risk management with a leaning towards gas related infrastructure developments (processing and petrochemical plants, pipelines and gas-fired independent power plants), as well as gas/liquefied petroleum gas and power offtake arrangements (gas sale and purchase agreements and power purchase agreements).

Pacer recently returned to ADVISORY from Total E&P Nigeria Limited where he had a 2-year in-house stint, which has enriched his appreciation of the context of energy projects and operations. Prior to working at ADVISORY, Pacer was with the energy and projects practice of a leading commercial law firm in Nigeria, where he developed experience on energy sector mergers and acquisitions, upstream oil and gas joint ventures, local content structuring and oil and gas tax reviews and arbitration.

Pacer also has experience advising government MDAs and multilateral organizations on policy reform; he was part of the team engaged by the federal legislators to advice on aspects of the Petroleum Industry Bill when it was first introduced to the National Assembly and also participated in assignments for policy reform in the gas sector.
